If the Gospel is false, then no biggie, but if its true... you will miss out and your eternity hangs in the balance.
If the tugging on your heart has gotten your attention. Just stop and choose Jesus. See that a life of only fulfilling selfish desires is fleeting and ultimately unsatisfactory. You will always be chasing the next best thing. In contrast, you can see your sin, you can see your need for something beyond yourself and your need for God. You can choose to open your eyes and heart to the God who made it all and paid it all. A God who offered a free gift of Salvation and to be with him forever. All you need to is humble yourself and choose him. Pick to follow him day in and day out, let him transform you and do a good work in you. He is not a wand of grace to just get you a ticket to heaven. He offers his righteousness to you, as you offer your life to him.
Once you have said yes to Jesus! And all of heaven rejoices as one sinner, who was lost is now found. Now Jesus gets to begin to do a good work in your heart and prune you to his likeness. So that the light of Christ may shine out of you to others. This whole thing, so to speak, is about a relationship with Jesus, who paid it all for you, and letting your life bring glory to him. SO go find a Bible believing church, and start getting some discipleship and mentors to help guide you into a deeper walk with Christ.

Truth be told, not every "Christian" knows their Bible well and may point you in directions contrary to the Bible's teachings. This being said, know the Bible so that you may know and love God and He will give you discernment as you go forward! Know your Bible like the back of your hand.
